What to Do When Someone Falls
- If someone falls and is injured, call Campus Security at 403-220-5333 or 911 in an emergency.
- Report to the Customer Care Centre at 403-220-7555 during business hours, or Campus Security after hours at 403-220-5333 or online.
- Near misses and injuries must also be logged in the Online Accident Reporting System (OARS).
Safe Winter Walking
- Be vigilant: machine operators need to see you, so make eye contact, stay alert and be aware of your surroundings to keep everyone safe.
- Do the penguin shuffle: point feet outward, take short shuffling steps, keep arms at your sides and out of pockets. Focus on balance, watch your footing and move slowly.
- Safety sand is available: help keep paths safe, find yellow bins and spread sand on slippery spots. Running low? Contact the Facilities Customer Care Centre.
